About

Approach to Investment Management

LNB Financial LLC utilizes an active management approach to asset allocation. Investments are screened and reviewed to meet our criteria in order to make it into an investment model. We customize our risk-based models to meet the goals, objectives, and risk tolerances of our clients. Our investment management services are provided on a discretionary basis only. This allows us to buy and sell investments as appropriate.

We are a fee-based Registered Investment Adviser and as such, are a Fiduciary. We do not receive commissions or transaction fees. Therefore, our goals are aligned.

Business Model

LNB Financial invests in Exchange Traded Funds, Mutual Funds, individual stocks, bonds, commercial paper, Certificates of Deposit, and money market instruments. After assessing a client’s investment goals, objectives, timeframe, and underlying risk tolerance, we will construct a specific investment allocation comprised of investment vehicles that have gone through an active due diligence process.

Before an Exchange Traded Fund or a Mutual fund makes it onto our approved list, we conduct a due diligence call with the particular company’s investment team. We discuss items such as their investment process, sales strategy, and in which specific market conditions they tend to perform better or worse in.

We take the time to understand how each investment company operates through regular screening calls and due diligence meetings. We understand that not every investment will always be the best in its asset class, but we do strive to invest long-term into investments that are consistently in the top two quartiles versus their peers.

Investment portfolios are customized to meet the individual clients’ goals, needs, and risk tolerance. For example, if a client has a “Balanced” investment objective but would like to have more income-generating investments to meet distribution needs, we will construct the asset allocation to provide more interest and dividends by investing with a focus on those types of investments.

A client communication schedule or plan is created for each client with a minimum of an annual portfolio review to confirm risk tolerance, discuss any changes in life circumstances that may have occurred, and review the performance of the investment portfolio.
